What you need to know about replacement water filters?

Rather you are looking to buy a replacement water filter or a new water system altogether, there are some things you should know about the next water filtration system you should decide to buy.

Let’s just be honest, drinking tap water isn’t really the healthiest decision one can make.  This water comes available with chlorine, SOC’S, VOC’s, lead, cysts (chlorine-resistant micro-organisms) and many other sediments and unsafe ingredients.  These could cause a number of illnesses, all of which I am sure you want no part.   Of course, the criteria upon which you choose your water purification system or replacement filters should make your drinking water as safe and healthy as possible.  So the only means to judge your filter worthiness, is to determine if it is protecting you from the above mentioned additives.

Your choice of exactly how you will purify your water can be vast.  You can use carbon filters, inline water filters, complete home filtration systems and many other different filtration methods.  Just like air filters becoming clogged, a water filter is subject to clogging with particles and minerals.  In order for the filter to perform optimally, you must replace the filter on a regular basis, ensuring that you have a replacement cartridge on hand.
Hands up for all those who can’t remember the last time they’ve used a replacement water filter for their refrigerators.  Those should be changed every six months, subject to how frequently you use it and what is being filtered.

The choice is plentiful when it comes to choosing a water purification system.  Even though you may not need the Cadillac of water filtration systems or their replacement cartridges, invest a little time in ensuring you are getting a filter that is best for you.
